Day by Day. Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Built Just in Time for Opening

Today was the grand opening of the “Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Norway”. We had 2 months to implement the project. Working hours initially until 17:00, then until 18:00, and no noise between 13:00 and 15:00, with threats and obstacles from some neighbors significantly complicated our task, but we managed and finished at 3:30 AM on May 21, and by noon the consulate was officially opened.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Ukraine, Ole Terje Horpestad, participated in the ceremonial event, and Odesa businessman Oleg Fomichov became the Honorary Consul.

“This is our country’s first honorary consulate in Ukraine,” noted the Norwegian ambassador. “It’s very pleasant to see that it’s located in such a modern facility. Oleg Fomichev’s main tasks in this position will be protecting and helping Norwegian citizens who live in or visit Ukraine, as well as developing friendship between our countries.”
