Example of insolation calculation (natural lighting of an object/apartment) when placing a building on a plot. This information is especially relevant when placing on a plot in a densely populated area of the city.
Our exclusive program code (written by our own efforts) based on python/dynamo (programming language for Revit) – the “trick” is that today the Revit developer hasn’t reached this point yet!
Principle of operation.
We create building forms, cover them with segments imitating windows (size 3×3 as an apartment cell) and calculate the natural sunlight entering the apartment, taking into account nearby buildings and shadow-forming shapes.
Result: if we get 2.5 hours of insolation per day, then the glass is colored green (complies with state standards), less is colored orange and red. (red color means less than 1 hour).
Colors are set through a filter: image attached.
We perform the calculation with geolocation binding, loading Google services, and also receive detailed insolation calculations for each season, and even for each month and day.
This program code is developed by DEHAUSS company.
The insolation project is valuable not only for the construction client but also for project approval in State Architecture and Urban Planning authorities.
